As promised, it's time to announce the workshops and reveal our mystery instructor!
Actually, make that instructorS - as it's none other than SHAKRA! Oh yeah! These fabulous ladies from Washington, DC round up our elite team of 8 instructors who will lead you on a dark and wonderful journey!
The Gothfia has worked hard to assemble for you a team that will provide Gothla US attendees with a complete dance experience, inside and out!
On Friday we have:
Marjhani - "Major Mayhem" - Area: Classified Information - Ever wonder what all the different types of Goth are, and what makes them what they are, and more importantly, how do they affect your dance and its presentation? Then you're all set with "Understanding the Gothic Scene"!
Lee Ali - "Folkloric Fox" - Area: Time Travel - Trance dance isn't just something for ravers and gravers - find out what Trance Dancing is REALLY all about, its folkloric roots, and what it means to you as a modern day dancer.
On Saturday we have:
Sashi - "Sergeant Sashi" - Area: Pain Managment - Explore the realm of Ascend Tribal Dance from inside out with "Body: Skin & Bones" - where Sashi will re-acquaint you with your body in ways you never thought possible. And you'll like it.
Asharah - "Coin Operated Girl" - Area: Machine Technicion - A master of pop, lock, and strobing, Asharah brings you "Danse Mécanique" - a class that focuses intently on putting the perfect polish and flow on your dance.
Tempest - "Madame 'Mutha" - Area: Theatrical Tactics - So you know you use your body when you dance, how about your brain? Be prepared to push out of your comfort zone, and challenge both your body and mind to be a more creative, balanced dancer with the GothMutha Tempest in "Dancing on the Right Side of the Brain:
On Sunday we have:
Anaar - "Ghost in the Machine" - Area: Ritual Science - What makes a performance powerful, eerie, and captivating all at once? A master of metaphysics, Anaar will help you understand what makes energy move in dance in "Ritual Theory."
Shakra - "Imperial Stompers" - Area: Enforcement - Crossing boundaries and pushing edges, the ladies of Shakra bring you high energy dance with "Transfusion Drills, Combos and Choreography".
Callisto - "The Sultry Swede" - Area: Weapons - Want to actually KNOW what you're doing with sharp objects and amaze your audience? All the way from Sweden, Gothla US is proud to bring you Callisto, who will give you a solid foundation in dancing with sai!
